In this chapter, Lassie accidentally ends up in Myrtle's house and learns that she is living under a constant threat from a monster in the nearby woods; naturally, our hero offers his assistance, which helps him develop a tighter bond with the young woman. He also continues his quest to cure Maple the Pixie's broken wing, and accepts an errand from Holly, the local shepherdess with big jugs (of milk) and a very short temper.
